This autobiography shares with us, the last thirty years of Spurgeon's life comprising his ministry at the Metropolitan Tabernacle, his editing of a monthly magazine, his founding of a Pastors' College and orphanages, and his family life. We see his family circle, the daily labour which lay behind his public work, the feelings which led him into his attempt to turn back the tidal movement which sought to change the faith of the churches- we come to a deeper and more appreciative knowledge of the real man.
