The account of Naaman's leprosy and its cure is a graphic illustration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was frequently used in this way by preachers in the past. So much is compressed into a single chapter of the Bible: leprosy seen as a picture of sin, the powerful effect of small acts of witness, the struggles of the seeker, the simplicity of the Gospel, and the radical effects of conversion. All are masterfully drawn out here by the author.
Elisha's handling of Naaman as a new convert, seen as a model for present-day workers, and warnings against the seeking of unwarranted gain in gospel labours are also handled compellingly.
